S/Key access through the skey user and skeysh is used when the S/Key login program (e.g. logdaemon) can not be used. Skeysh can be viewed as a reasonably secure alternative to building an S/Key-aware logdaemon. .sp 1 .LP .SH DIAGNOSTICS .SH BUGS .LP .SH SEE ALSO .BR keyinfo(1), .BR keyinit(1), .BR skey(1), .BR key(1) .SH AUTHORS The skeysh authentication shell for S/Key 2.2 was written by Michael Holst , based heavily on keysh for S/Key 1.1c, written by Phil Karn, Neil M. Haller, John S. Walden, and Scott Chasin. The original keysh was not a complete logdaemon replacement like skeysh, since it did not support the specification of the username on login, and it did not identify the correct shell after a successful S/Key authentication. This limited the keysh for use as an individual user's login shell.
