Biomedical Image Processing and Geometric Modeling

Zeyun Yu
UCSD Department of Mathematics

Abstract:

This talk includes three parts. In Part I, I will brieflyintroduce a number of imaging techniques for 3D structurereconstructions at different scales (including tissue, cellular, subnanometer, and atomic levels). In Part II, a couple of imageprocessing algorithms will be presented, in order to extract featuresof interest for geometric modeling. Part III is mesh generation, anessential step for finite element method. I will introduce twoapproaches for mesh generation: Delaunay triangulation andOctree-based method.
