Solutions of the Initial Value Constraint Equations of General Relativity (Part II)

Abstract:
The starting point for the construction of a spacetime solution of the Einstein gravitational field equations via the Cauchy Problem is a set of initial data which satisfies the Einstein constraint equations. In this set of lectures, we discuss mathematical methods for analyzing these constraint equations, for parametrizing the space of their solutions, and for constructing specific solutions of particular physical or mathematical interest. We focus primarily on the Conformal Method and on Gluing Procedures which apply to the Einstein constraint equations.
